Politicians agree changes with Blue Island bosses
Senior Jersey politicians have agreed a list of changes for Blue Islands, after continued disruption to services.
Chief Minister Ian Gorst and Senator Lyndon Farnham, Economic Development Minister, met with the airline's Managing Director and Founder yesterday.
It follows anger from islanders and businesses after numerous inter-island flights were cancelled last week.
The Ministers say they are 'encouraged' by the 'attitude and commitment' shown by the airline.
During the meeting these objectives were confirmed:
Blue Islands will take delivery of an extra aircraft next week, adding more resilience to its fleet and reducing the chances of service disruption.
Flybe and Blue Islands will improve customer service after the recent franchise agreement.
Flybe and Blue Islands will improve communications with customers in the Channel Islands.
Senator Farnham will meet with senior management of Blue Islands every month to monitor progress and keep the situation under review.
Blue Islands Managing Director, Rob Veron, says they have now 'recovered from the disruption' and are 'committed to taking robust measures to mitigate against' it happening again in the future.
