Seneschal of Sark sends condolences to Beaumont family on behalf of islanders
The Seneschal of Sark has formally announced the death of the island's Seigneur, John Michael Beaumont OBE.
In a written statement Mr Jeremy La Trobe-Bateman described the 88-year-old's death as 'unexpected.'
His statement read;
Meanwhile, His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor of Guernsey, Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder said that he and Lady Corder were said to be 'extremely sorry to hear the sad news' and have expressed their deepest sympathies for Diana and the family.
Mr Beaumont's son, Major Christopher Beaumont, succeeds Michael as Seigneur.
