'North show needs to change if it is to survive'
A Guernsey Deputy has said the way Guernsey's North Show is run may have to change if the show is to survive.
Deputy John Gollop says organisers should team up with other organisations to fund and run the event.
Efforts are ongoing to save the show, which needs £20,000 of funding if it is to go ahead this year.
A new campaign was launched earlier this week, selling flowers to raise money for the cause.
Deputy Gollop wants the show take on the format of an 'Alderney Week' for Guernsey, in order to make the most of the benefit he says it brings to the community.
He has been calling for the States to contribute, saying he believes the show should automatically get government funding.
