A catalogue of fears about the scale of child abuse in Jersey has been revealed today at the inquiry investigating historical abuse.
It was contained in a document from the Association of Chief Police Officers, written in February 2008, summarising lead investigator Lenny Harper's concerns at the time.
He is today giving evidence to the inquiry for a second day.
The note stated:
When asked if that was an accurate reflection of his thoughts at the time, Mr Harper today replied:
But he did flag up concern that documents had only been presented to him for consideration this morning. The hearing was delayed by more than an hour to give Mr Harper time to read the documents, whose legal privilege had only been waived earlier today.
