Sark school children learn the Opera
School children in Sark have been learning Opera.
Opera singers have been in the classroom this week teaching them the story of the Magic Flute, and the music that goes with it.
The Magic Flute is a fairy tale about a damsel in distress and the handsome prince who comes to rescue her.
The youngsters then re-enacted the story later whilst their parents looked on.
The lessons were part of a festival in the island to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the island's Royal Charter.
The finale was last night, where the performers sang arias from Mozart to Puccini in the Island Hall.
The organisers are so were delighted with the response to the event, they plan to make it a bi-annual festival.
