Quay FM starts broadcasting year-round from today
Alderney's first year-round radio station starts today.
Quay FM will be broadcasting on 107.1 FM.
The station has been running for 15 years, but under a strict licence which only lets it broadcast in the summer. Now the licence has been extended and they will be on air all year from today.
Quay FM will broadcast from the following times:
Early Breakfast - 7am - 8amBreakfast Show - 8am - 10am'Oldies Type Show' - 10am - 11amMagazine programme with music and interviews - 11am - 1pmAutomatic mode - 1pm - 7pm'Playback option' - 7pm - 1am.
Station Manager Dougal Bohan says it is fantastic to be on air and people 'are really excited about it.' He says that it is a community radio station that people have been 'calling out for' so he is sure that the island will embrace it.
