Thousands expected at Sikh procession in Leicester
The annual Nagar Kirtan procession, which last year attracted about 10,000 Sikhs, will be making its way through the city today.
The colourful procession will set off from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara in East Park Road at about 11am.
The procession celebrates the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikh faith. People come from all over the Midlands - some as far as Birmingham.
The event has been celebrated in Leicester for more than 20 years. People will sing hymns, and distribute food to anyone in need.
There will be rolling road closures while the procession passes through Leicester.
