Kayleigh Haywood disappearance now being treated as murder

Police investigating the disappearance of 15-year-old Kayleigh Haywood say it has now become a murder investigation.

Kayleigh Haywood, from Measham, was last seen at 6pm on Friday 13th November when she was dropped off outside Ibstock Community College, in Central Avenue.

Kayleigh’s mum and dad, Stephanie Haywood and Martin Whitby, described her as a bubbly, loving, caring girl who loves her family.

Kayleigh Haywood's brother 'terrified' for his sister

Speaking exclusively to ITV News, the brother of Kayleigh Haywood says his family still hold out some hope that they find his sister alive.

Kyle Haywood says he is terrified for what she may have gone through after going missing last Friday evening.

However, Leicestershire police say they are now treating her disappearance as a murder investigation.

Officers have been searching farmland close to Belton today.

Kayleigh has not been seen since she was dropped off at Ibstock Community College on Friday.
