Girl suffers serious burns in house fire

A girl believed to be 9 years old was injured after a house fire in Telford. The child suffered serious burns to her face, arms, hands and legs after the blaze at Green Moors in Lightmoor Village.

It happened around 11.05am. An ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"Crews arrived to find a girl who was out of the house that had suffered serious injuries. It is believe the fire happened in a bedroom.

“She immediately received emergency treatment by medics at the scene and her condition was stabilised.

“Following treatment, the girl was airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further emergency treatment.

“No one else was injured in the fire".
