M1 re-opens after lorry fire causes misery for commuters

The M1 motorway has now re-opened after it was forced to close due to a lorry catching fire yesterday afternoon.

Pictures posted on social media showed thick black smoke in the sky.

Highways England closed the motorway in both directions between Junction 28 and 29.

Resurfacing work was carried out overnight to have the road re-opened in time for this mornings rush hour.
