Neighbour 'threw son out of window to save him from fire'

A man has described the scene on North Street in Langley Mill last night as neighbours raced to save residents who were trapped in a burning block of flats.

Paul Barber - who lives on the estate in Langley Mill where the fire happened - told how one man threw his child out of a window and onto a mattress on the ground as smoke poured out of the building.

A different eyewitness - who did not wish to be named - has reported hearing shouting in the street on Saturday.
