FA defends Villa's 'low' FA cup final ticket allocation

The FA has defended its allocation of FA Cup final tickets after complaints from Aston Villa fans over the decision to give them just over a quarter of the seats.

Villa were given 25,000 tickets for the game against Arsenal at Wembley's 90,000 seater stadium.

With Gunner's fans being allocated a similar amount.

The FA says it's important to reward volunteers and members of the football family. 17,000 tickets are being offered to members of Club Wembley, which is effectively a season ticket for games at the National Stadium.

The FA also states they have never offered more than 25,000 tickets to a team competing in the FA Cup final since the event was moved to the new stadium in 2007.
