Body of missing pensioner found in Black Country canal

The body of a missing Walsall pensioner has been found in a canal in the Black Country.

A number of appeals had been made to find 84-year-old Sidney Edlin after he went missing from his home in Rowlands Avenue, Bentley, last Thursday.

Police received a call from a member of the public in Leamore Lane reporting what they believed to be a body floating in a nearby stretch of the Wyrley & Essington canal.

His death is not being treated as treated suspicious.
