Exclusion zone after Hinckley sub-station 'explosion'

Firefighters have been called to a fire at an electricity sub-station in Hinckley.

It's reported people living nearby heard a loud bang before a plume of smoke rose into the air this afternoon at Middlefield Lane.

There is currently a 200 metre cordon in place while firefighters wait for the electricity board to isolate electrics.
