Lorry carrying pigeon boxes catches fire on M6

Firefighters are tackling a fire involving a lorry carrying pigeon boxes on the M6.

The Central Motorway Policing Group have tweeted details about the incident at Junction 10 on the Northbound carriageway, which has been affecting traffic since 1.30pm.

The force later tweeted that the lorry was carrying empty pigeon boxes, so no birds had been harmed by the fire.
