Hereford United have been granted a general safety certificate to host matches at Edgar Street - but only with a capacity of 1,000 people.

Herefordshire Council says the club has been given permission to open the stadium to the public after their safety certificate had been withdrawn a month ago.

The club's first game of the season will be on Saturday 9 August against St Neots Town.

The club will only currently be allowed to play football matches in front of 1,000 spectators using both the Merton Terrace and Merton Stand at Edgar Street, as opposed to a full capacity crowd, until all of the partner agencies involved are satisfied that any outstanding safety issues have been properly addressed.
