Brian Rollins who was born in Birmingham spent a decade hunting for the 1936 Austin Seven Opal Tourer, which took him and his pals on days out to the seaside.

The 78-year-old finally tracked his first car down at the 2011 Classic Motor Show – 56 years after selling it.

The great-grandad spent almost a year turning around its “dreadful” condition – and will be back at the NEC today as a finalist in a national car restoration contest.
