Forest suffer 5-0 humiliation in East Midlands Derby

Nottingham Forest have suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of local rivals Derby County today.

The bitter rivals went head-to-head at the Rams' iPro Stadium in today's early kick-off and it was Steve McClaren's side who looked the brightest from the start.

Craig Bryson's sixth minute goal got the home side underway, with the midfielder going on to score a hat-trick in what was a man-of-the-match performance.

Billy Davies' Reds side could not muster a reply all afternoon and found themselves 3-0 down at the break, thanks to two from Bryson and another from Jeff Hendrick.

The second half was just as bad for the visitors, thanks to Johnny Russell's magnificent 20-yard strike and Bryson's third from the penalty spot to compound their misery.

The result means Forest stay in sixth place for a couple of hours at least, whilst Derby sit in third and have automatic promotion firmly in their sights.
