Student protest at University of Birmingham
Over a hundred students have stormed the University of Birmingham occupation, breaking a siege installed by university management.
The university has said that members of staff have been injured during the protests.
The University of Birmingham was granted a possession order against the students who have been in occupation of the Senate Chamber since Wednesday evening. The ruling ordered the protestors inside the occupation to leave by 5:00pm earlier this evening.
Despite this, a large number of students broke the injunction. Students have been campaigning against the possibility of a further increase in tuition fees and the selling off of the student loan book.
Students have also been injured during the protests.
