Police launched the investigation after they were called to a street in Baston on Thursday 5 September.

Police launched the investigation after they were called to a street in Baston on Thursday 5 September.
A 16-year-old girl has appeared at Grantham Magistrates Court charged with the murder of her new-born baby between September 2 and September 6.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was told by the Chair of the Bench that her case was to be sent up to the Crown Court this afternoon.
The 16-year-old has been remanded into local authority care and will appear before Lincoln Crown Court this afternoon.
Richard Tollemache, Chair of the Bench at Grantham Magistrates Court, told the girl:
I hope you do understand what is going on. It must be frightening for you. I feel for you.
We are going to remand you into custody in the care of the local authority and we are going to send this case up to Crown Court this afternoon.
