Holiday makers and plane enthusiasts at East Midlands Airport saw a bit of aviation history being made today, as the brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner took to the skies for the first time with passengers onboard.
Dreamliner takes off in Midlands for the first time
Holiday-makers from the Midlands have become among the first to fly in the brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, after it took off from a Midlands airport for the first time today.
The Thomson jet left East Midlands Airport on its way to Florida.
The airliner was temporarily grounded earlier this year after a number of safety issues.
