A Nottinghamshire Fire Service spokesperson said that a chemical containing 36% hydrochloride has spilt at a business premises in Pasture Road and a nearby community church had been evacuated as a precaution.
Pasture Road, Kennedy Drive, Moorbridge Lane and Hickings Lane are currently closed to traffic.
