Train passengers had their journey delayed for over an hour in Worcester last week, while rail staff helped free a signalman who got trapped inside a toilet cubicle.

The worker made a dash to the toilet in Henwick, Worcester. After relieving himself, he turned to unlock the door, which became stuck.

The signalman was eventually found when a colleague heard his call for help.

The embarrassed signalman was eventually freed after his colleagues managed to force the door open using a crowbar.

The 3:13pm Hereford to London service was held up for over an hour on Wednesday February 6.

Despite rail bosses announcing the issue as 'signalling problems', the really cause was leaked onto a rail enthusiasts' blog.
