Leicester man jailed for Jessie J gig murder
A graphic designer from Leicester has been jailed for a minimum of 14 years at the Old Bailey after being convicted of murdering another man at a Jessie J gig in London earlier this year.
Telephone executive Phillip Sherriff, who was 37, died in April, four days after being attacked at London's Pulse nightclub, shortly after Jessie J had performed.
Ashley Charles, who is 26 and of Nevanthon Road in Leicester, denied the murder charge, claiming he acted in self defence.
Judge Paul Worsley said Charles killed Mr Sherriff, of Preston, Lancs, because he was annoyed.
