Northampton Railway Station prepares for £20million revamp
Preparations for the £20million revamp of Northampton Railway Station will begin this Sunday.
From the start of next week, there will be an archaeological evaluation of the new station building.
Because, Northampton Castle was situated on part of the current site, an exploratory trench will be excavated within the short-stay car parking area.
According to West Northamptonshire Development Corporation, there will be minimal disruption to rail passengers, with no changes to routes in or out of the station, and only a small area of the car park will be shut.
