Angela Sidlow has today been placing tributes at the memorial of murdered Coventry schoolboy Daniel Pelka on what would've have been his eighth birthday.

Yesterday Daniel's mother Magdalena Luczak, was found dead in prison, where she was serving a 30 year jail term for killing her son in 2012.

Angela says no one will cry for her, and criticised the timing of her death.

Prison officers said she was found unresponsive in her cell at HMP Foston Hall in Derbyshire at 7:15am. No details have yet been released into exactly how she died.

Latest on the death of Daniel Pelka's mother in prison

The mother and murderer of Daniel Pelka, Magdalena Luczak, has been found dead in her prison cell in Derbyshire.

Luczak was two years into a 30 year jail term for the death of her 4-year-old son who suffered years of abuse at the hands of her and her partner Mariusz Krezolek. Tomorrow would've been Daniel's 8th birthday. Chris Halpin has the latest.

Daniel Pelka's mother has been found dead in her prison cell on the eve of what would have been her son's eighth birthday.

Magdalena Luczak was convicted to serve a minimum of 30 years in 2013 for the murder of four-year-old Daniel in 2012.

The Ministry of Justice says she was found 'unresponsive' in her cell at HMP Foston Hall in Derbyshire at around 7:15am this morning. The death has now been referred to the prison ombudsman.

Prison officers found Daniel Pelka's mother unresponsive in her prison cell at HMP Foston in Derbyshire at around 7:15 am this morning.

Magdalena Luczak was serving a minimum 30 year jail term for the murder of 4-year-old Daniel from Coventry, who died in 2012.

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said:

"Paramedics attended and she was pronounced dead at the scene. "As with all deaths in custody there will be an investigation by the Independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman."

Mother of murdered Daniel Pelka dies in prison

Magdelena Luczak, the mother of murdered four-year-old Daniel Pelka, has died at HMP Foston Hall Prison, the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has said.

Officials at the ministry said Luczak, 29 - who was jailed for the murder alongside child's stepfather Mariusz Krezolek in 2013 - was found unresponsive in her cell at around 7.15 this morning.

"Paramedics attended and she was pronounced dead at the scene," an MOJ spokesman said.

Luczak and Krezolek received life sentences with a minimum of 30 years in 2013 after Pelka was beaten to death following years of starvation and mistreatment.

Pelka weighed just 1st 9lbs when he denied, after being subjected to "incomprehensible" cruelty which included being forced to perform punishment exercises, being poisoned with salt and being tortured.

Both had appeals to the sentences rejected in December by the Court of Appeal.

The mother of murdered four-year-old Daniel Pelka has died in prison.

Daniel, from Coventry, died in March 2012 after what a Birmingham Crown Court judge described as a "campaign of cruelty".

The Ministry of Justice has confirmed Magdalena Luczak, has died at HMP Foston Hall Prison.
