'Most dangerous dog' police have seen to be destroyed

A dog labelled the "most dangerous" police have ever seen has been ordered to be destroyed by a judge after it attacked a young girl.

The Japanese Akita, called Diesel, clamped down on nine-year-old Amy Hryhoruk's head, leaving her with serious injuries.

A court heard the animal had "stalked" Amy home and attacked her just yards from her home in Rushall, Walsall, on May 5 last year.

Her father Simon saved her by managing to wrestle it away from her, suffering bites to his hands and legs himself.

Nirmal Singh, aged 60, was looking after the dog at the time for his son Amrit Pal, and has been fined £750.
