JLR commits to United Kingdom with investment

Jaguar Land Rover is creating 1,700 new jobs and investing another £1.5bn into its factory at Solihull.

The firm will build a new plant on the site to make aluminium body panels and a final assembly line.

Speaking at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, Dr Ralf Speth, told the world's media about the businesses commitment to the United Kingdom.

Jaguar jobs boost to extend aluminium model range

Jaguar's £1.5 billion investment at its plant in Solihull will go towards developing technically-advanced aluminium parts for future models.

The first model to show the technology will be a mid-sized sports saloon car, due to be launched in 2015.

Jaguar Land Rover chief executive Dr Ralf Speth announced the investment at the Frankfurt Motor show:
