Volunteers from the Islamic Relief are giving out cakes across the Midlands as a part of fundraising during the holy month of Ramadan.

The project 'Cakes for Syria', in which people pay a donation in return for a cake, is a simple idea that helps to save lives in the humanitarian crisis.

During Ramadan, many of those volunteering are fasting, as are some of those they're delivering to - so these cakes will possibly be used as a part of Iftar meal, breaking the fast.

Since the conflict in Syria, the charity has delivered more than £239 million of aid inside Syria and in the neighbouring countries.
