A couple from Nottinghamshire said the organisation at the Y Not festival in Derbyshire was "shambolic."

Torrential rain had turned the festival into a 'mudfest,' forcing organisers to cancel Sunday's planned schedule due to the safety of guests, performers and crew.

Mr and Mrs Sewell spent more than £400 to take their two children to the festival near Matlock.

Bands including Happy Monday and the Vaccines were cancelled leaving festival-goers disappointed.

Despite repeated requests, ITV News Central has had no response from the festival organisers today.

Yesterday they explained that they had called the event off early after consulting all the relevant authorities and say the potential risk was too severe for Sunday to go ahead.

They also apologised for the disappointment and disruption caused to everyone who was looking forward to the final day of the festival.
