East Midlands Airport welcomes runway proposals
East Midlands Airport has welcomed a government proposal to increase runway capacity at airports across the UK.
The project forms part of new aviation plans which will recommend making full use of existing airport capacity while a third runway is built at Heathrow.
It's hoped the proposals could boost the economy and offer more choice for passengers.
It comes as the airport prepares for what's expected to be its busiest summer on record.
