Paraplegic fundraiser Claire Lomas collects MBE
There was an honour at Buckingham Palace for Leicestershire fundraiser Claire Lomas as she was awarded with an MBE.
She famously walked the London Marathon marathon in 2012 wearing a "bionic suit" and completed the Great North Run in Newcastle last year.
In 2007, she was paralysed from the chest down in a horse riding accident.
Her fundraising efforts have now been recognised by the Queen and today she got to make the special trip to Buckingham Palace.
Prince William was at the ceremony to hand her the prestigious medal, given for “outstanding achievement or service to the community".
Claire shared the news with her followers on Twitter saying it was her '10th highlight' of the year.
She says her biggest highlight was giving birth to her baby in January. Luckily Chloe arrived a month early to be part of the celebrations!
