Hundreds evacuated from school after hand-dryer fire
Hundreds of pupils had to be evacuated from a school in Birmingham after a hand-dryer caught fire in a bathroom.
More than 450 pupils were removed from Castle Bromwich Junior School as eight firefighters dealt with the fire yesterday morning.
Two crews from Sheldon Fire Station were called to the scene on Hurst Lane North just before 10am after reports of a fire in a toilet.
The whole school then had to be fully evacuated as firefighters dealt with the incident, which took around 40 minutes.
