'Blind Dave' Heeley attempting every Great Run in 2017

Dave Heeley is attempting yet another world record attempt as the first blind person to complete every Great Run in the 2017 series.

Affectionately known as 'Blind Dave', he'll travel to Scotland tomorrow before starting his first run on Saturday.

By the time he finishes in November, he'll be in Ethiopia where he will celebrate his 60th birthday.

The West Bromwich Albion supporter is the only blind person to have run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.

The father-of-three has also run and cycled from John O'Groats to Lands End.

As well as completing the gruelling Marathon Des Sables - known as the toughest foot race on earth.

His challenged with include a mix of 5k, 10k, 10 miles, half marathons and now two added marathons, plus multiple runs on some days.

In October, he will be running the first Birmingham marathon in the morning, followed by the half in the afternoon.

He'll be fundraising for The Albion Foundation throughout his challenge.
