Midlands based JCB announce one of its biggest deals
Industrial machinery manufacturer JCB have today announced news of one of its biggest deals with an order for at least 1,200 machines, a deal which is thought to be worth £35 million which has come from the UK’s largest plant hire firm.
The contract from A-Plant – which follows its purchase last year of 1,500 JCB machines worth £50 million, includes a fleet of 13-tonne excavator diggers (as seen in the picture above) made at JCB Heavy Products site in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.
The deal is also good news for JCB’s other Staffordshire factories in Rocester and Cheadle which will manufacture mini excavators and rough terrain fork lift trucks which have also been ordered. A-Plant is also buying a fleet of JCB site dumpers.
The news is welcomed by hundreds of staff at the West Midlands firm, securing future employment in the region despite current discussions of nationwide, economic uncertainty.
The latest order marks a major milestone for A-Plant as it now means the company has bought more than 11,000 machines from JCB since the first one was purchased more than 25 years ago.JCB UK & Ireland Sales Director Dan Thompstone said:
