Man arrested after reports of a gunman seen near mental health unit
Police have arrested a 44-year-old man after reports that a gunman was seen near a mental health unit in Birmingham.
Officers were called to Mindelsohn Way in Edgbaston at around 7.15am this morning after the sighting near the Barberry unit.
It's claimed a man had been spotted with a firearm in a walkway between Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the mental health units.
A man was later arrested in Northfield Road in Bartley Green.
West Midlands Police say an investigation is now underway after officers carried out a search of the area but no weapon has been found.
