I AM TEAM GB in the Midlands - what's going on?

Today, ITV are teaming with the National Lottery and our returning Olympic heroes to create #IAMTEAMGB - and hoping to create the nation's biggest sports day.

There are free sporting activities all over the Midlands.

ITV will be going off the air at 9:30 for an hour, to encourage you to go out and play some sport.

The big event in the Midlands is taking place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm.

Activities include football, rugby, tennis, netball, gymnastics, climbing wall, dance, cycling and much more.

Olympic gold medalist Liam Heath and silver medalist Jonathan Schofield from Rio are the Olympians attending the event.

Other guests include sporting superstar Dame Kelly Holmes and Wasps Rugby Union players James Haskell and Kieran Myall.

Ward End park in Birmingham are also hosting a range of sporting activities for the whole family, beginning at 11am.

In the East Midlands, Leicester ladies hockey are hosting an event at Leicester Grammar School. Sam Ward, who represented the men's side at the Olympics will be there to giving tips.

Nottingham Tennis Centre is one of many venues in the city holding different sports for people to try.
