Brit abroad told can't change pounds for euros at hotel after EU exit
A holidaymaker from Nottingham who is in Greece has told ITV News Central that he has not been able to exchange British currency for Euros.
Matt Rooney is staying at the Blue Lagoon Resort and arrived at reception this morning to a sign informing guests that they weren't able to exchange because they don't have an "official exchange rate from the central bank".
It comes after Britain voted to leave the European Union and David Cameron announced he would step down as Prime Minister as a result.
Mr Rooney explained how several guests at the hotel were frustrated by the news and hadn't been expecting this to happen no matter what the result of the referendum.
The cash machines are now working in the hotel and he said the hotel staff had been very helpful and that they admitted it is a "confusing time".
