Flooding causes chaos across Midlands as schools evacuated

Flooding is causing chaos across the Midlands today, with 13 schools in Warwickshire closing for the day due to the conditions.

Many residents have been tweeting their pictures of the wet conditions, roads appearing to be closed or with flood water rising.

The schools affected are:

  • Brailes C.Of E. Primary School

  • Great Alne Primary School

  • Henley-In-Arden CofE Primary School

  • Henley-In-Arden School

  • Leamington Hastings Church of England Academy

  • Loxley C.Of E. Community Primary School

  • Newbold And Tredington C.Of E. Primary School

  • Our Lady's Catholic Primary School, Princethorpe

  • Snitterfield Primary School

  • Temple Herdewyke Primary School

  • The Dassett C.Of E. Primary School

  • Wilmcote C.Of E. (Voluntary Aided) Primary School

  • Wolverton Primary School

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue service say they have rescued people trapped in their cars in the flood water. This was in the Great Alne, Wolston, Baginton, Princethorpe areas.
