Christmas shopper conned out of £500 over iPhone scam

A Christmas shopper was conned out of £500 when the iPhone 6 he thought he was buying turned out to two bags of sugar.

The victim handed over the cash after viewing the phones in the fraudster’s car but he was handed a bag containing sugar before the conman sped off in a getaway car.

The incident happened in the Northfield area of Birmingham and police are currently hunting the individual responsible.

He is described as chubby, white and ginger.

The offender was in his mid-30s, around 6ft tall and had stubble, wearing a black top, dark jacket with black shorts and trainers.
