A Birmingham dad got a real scare when a three-feet snake slithered into his Sutton Coldfield office.

Alan Donaldson, 44, was working at his industrial unit near Bassetts Pole when the slippery customer paid him a visit last Thursday.

The grass snake hissed and lunged at the recycling boss before trying to slither off.

But Alan wasn’t rattled and - inspired by his hero Steve Irwin - he eventually managed to pick up the harmless reptile and release it back into the wild.

But as Alan raced for the exit, the snake moved across the floor and tried to hide under a palette in the office.

Eventually the snake slipped outside and Alan, by now wearing some welding gloves, decided to pick up the serpent.
