Investigation underway after bodies found in Digbeth

An investigation is underway after the bodies of a man and a woman were found at a house in Digbeth.

Detectives made the discovery on Floodgate Street yesterday afternoon while carrying out enquiries to find a missing woman on behalf of Thames Valley Police.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed "as a matter of course", West Midlands Police said.

Formal identification is yet to take place, although officers believe the man and woman were aged 55 and 49, respectively. Forensic post-mortem examinations are due to take place tomorrow.
