Strongbow lorry carrying gallons of cider tips over

Motorists faced a severe traffic jam after a lorry flipped over on a roundabout, sending hundreds of litres of cider spilling onto the road.

Police and rescue teams used mops to clean gallons of Strongbow cider which spilled across the carriageway on Wednesday 26 August.

Luckily, the driver of the 38-tonne lorry, which was "fully loaded with Strongbow cider", was unhurt.

West Mercia Police closed the road at the A44/A4103 roundabout after the 5.50pm smash and asked drivers to avoid the route if possible due to a "large spillage".

Six police cars and a tow-truck rushed to the scene where hundreds of cider cans were strewn across the road.

Once the truck was back upright, it took another hour to reopen the road with the help of local farmers, with one even bringing his tractor to scoop up the mess.
