Elderly man airlifted to hospital after car crash

A man in his seventies has been airlifted after being trapped in a car for an hour after a crash in Shopshire.

A lorry and a car collided on the the A41 in Grindley Brook, Whitchurch, shortly after 3.25pm this afternoon.

The car was badly damaged and the driver was trapped inside. He was drifting in and out of consciousness but was finally freed with help from the fire service.
