Birmingham Children's Hospital has teamed up with Wild in Art to stage the biggest ever mass-participation, public art event in the city - The Big Hoot.

The 165cm-tall owls, decorated by artists and community groups and generously sponsored by local businesses, will be taking up perch right across Birmingham for 10 weeks during the summer.

They will be joined by a parliament of cute 'owlet' sculptures - smaller, but crafted just as creatively by local students and teachers.

The Big Hoot is expected to attract thousands of local, regional and national visitors – thereby making a significant contribution to the economic, cultural and social life of the city.
