Mystery 'Spider-Man' is feeding Birmingham's homeless
With a secret identity, a noble mission and an outfit straight from the comic books, he could rival any of Marvel's iconic superheroes.
But instead of swinging between skyscrapers fighting supervillains, one man is helping feed Birmingham's homeless.
An ordinary barman by day, he dons his Spider-Man costume at night to take to the streets and help those in need.
Spider-Man - who, much like the comic book icon, keeps his real identity hidden - says he is 20, single, originally from Water Orton and has lived all over Birmingham.
His antics have captured the public’s imagination, but the real-life action hero says all he wants to do is draw attention to the plight of the vulnerable, and insists he will not be unmasked.
He hands out sandwiches to the homeless wearing the Marvel-inspired outfit a few nights each week from 9pm to midnight.
What he did not bargain for was the tremendous public reaction.
Even he admits his double life is “surreal” and he has to have a reality check when he gets home after a night combating the evil in society.
He has been helping the homeless and vulnerable since he was 17 when he joined a city centre church group distributing food in the area.
