A special Christmas Day service has been held in Newark in Nottinghamshire as part of Christmas Truce commemorations.

A memorial plaque was unveiled by Newark locals and representatives from Newark Town FC Under-21's, who took part in a special match in Belgium in August. It was to mark a hundred years since the Christmas Day Truce of 1914.

The town's Under-21's football club travelled to Ypres earlier this year to recreate the First World War match against their German twin town, FC Emmendingen.
