Have you seen this man? Drawing of suspect released after 16-year-old girl was grabbed by driver in abduction attempt
Police have relaxed an artists impression of a man suspected of trying to abduct a 16-year-old school girl a fortnight ago.
The attempted abduction was reported at 8am on 6 November by the father of a 12-year-old girl after she had been approached by a man in a car while she was walking to school along Clinton Road, Shirley, Solihull.
The man grabbed the girl’s hand but she managed to get free and then forced the driver’s door back on him before running away.
A 61-year-old man was arrested during the same morning, but was subsequently released from custody without charge.
The girl has worked with specialist officers to help an illustrator produce the hand drawn images of the suspect and also a hand with a distinctive mark across it.
Detective Sergeant Stu Grundy said:
The man is described as white, approximately 60 years old, tall (as the car seat was pushed far back), he had side burns and brown/grey hair but was fairly bald at the front with possible facial stubble. He was also wearing a black leather jacket.
Anyone with information is asked to call local police on 101.
