'Rust in Peace': Car abandoned in Birmingham car park for three years racks up £14,235 parking fine

This car has been parked in a multi-storey car park for three years - which means its elusive owner has racked up a parking ticket worth £14, 235.

The mystery car is parked in a space at Broadway Plaza off Five Ways in Birmingham - but now the council has been asked to remove it.

The vehicle is unlocked and the log book is actually still in the car - with all the owner's details - but all attempts to contact the owner have failed.

Police say it hasn't been stolen or involved in a crime.

The car can't be driven away because of damage to the back axle.

The car park owner says:

A spokesman for the city council said the multi-storey is not owned by the authority and the owner could face a bill for having the car removed.
