Darlaston fire: loud explosions heard at recycling plant fire, 50 firefighters tackling blaze

Loud explosions have been heard at the scene of a recycling plant fire in Darlaston, Walsall.

50 firefighters are currently tackling the blaze at G&P Batteries on Willenhall Road.

One person has been treated by paramedics, it is not yet known what their condition is.

West Midlands Fire Service says lithium batteries are involved in the blaze and firefighters are attempting to protect nearby buildings.

It is the second time this year a fire has broken out at the factory - the previous one on 14 January saw 60 firefighters in attendance.
